Tribal Planet: Mucking About on the River

July 21st, 2008

We’re a little bit slow off the mark this week. Tardiness aside, here’s episode three of our Tribal Planet tests. Sadly the Doctor was unavailable on the day so you’ll have to make do with Mark. Sorry for being late, and sorry for foisting Mark on you. Enjoy.

Tribal Planet: Testing The Best

July 2nd, 2008

Tribal Planet have long said that their gig bags provide the best protection you can get from a soft case. I said ‘Prove it!’ so, myself, Jon Loomes and anyone else who wasn’t doing much at the time have produced a short video showing just how good these guitars actually are. We think you’ll be suprised.

New Additions to the Blog

We’ve taken the old FAQ that nobody could find on the site and dragged it over here, kicking and screaming into the 21st Century.

It’s been cleaned up a bit and organised a bit better.  For now you can reach it through the navigation bar to your right.  If you have a question for the asking, send it here and if it’s a good one we’ll add it to the list.

It’s That Time of Year… Again.

April 21st, 2008

Of course, I’m talking about festival time and the the fun and mayhem that comes with it. What follows is a list of where you’ll be able to meet, catch up with, seek advice from, buy drinks for (that last one always goes down well!) all your favourite The Music Room staff members and of course, peruse our wares and buy lots of instruments.

We’ve got some great new lines for you this year, the biggest one is Standford Guitars. Now I know I’ve mentioned them before but really I can’t stress enough how good they are. They’re a sweet fusion of traditional design philosophies and modern manufacturing techniques but really to understand where I’m coming from you need to come along and get your hands on one. You won’t regret it.

One last thing, before the list of dates, while we take lots of stuff with us when we’re on the road, if there’s something you especially want and you’re not sure we’ll be bringing it just give us a ring and a couple of days notice and we’ll make sure it gets put in the van just for you.

Becky Taylor Live @ The Music Room April12th 2008

April 17th, 2008

Sleepy old Cleckheaton was once again treated to a day of musical extravaganza. The Music Room threw wide it’s doors and invited people from far and wide to learn something of the whistle.

Guests of honour were Tony Dixon, reknowned whistle maker and the lovely Becky Taylor, whistler extraordinaire.
